Discussion: Chapter thirteen provides an in-depth discussion of assessing student learning. The reasoning behind designing lessons and learning experiences is to help students gain mastery of a topic or skill. Chapter thirteen focuses on how teachers can design and implement assessments to help them determine a student’s level of understanding as well as make instructional adjustments to help support students when they are not mastering skills (Slavin, 2018).
